Why is my ice cream still soft after freezing?

How hard your ice cream freezes can depend on where you are storing it in your freezer. If you put it on the side of the door then it can soften, if your freezer is over filled then your freezer may be having difficulties. Try to keep this frozen food towards the back of the freezer.

It is possible that, because of the cream and the fats in ice cream, it needs a lower temperature to go solid (ice cream is a frozen food that is quite dense with less water content due to cream and fat content). Try to keep your ice cream in the coldest part of your freezer and you need to turn the temperature down further. Click here to read more about storing frozen foods. Thank you for your question.
