Grilled Fish and Chips with Homemade Tartare Sauce

Cooking frozen fish is a great to get all those extra nutrients and vitamins

Try our fish fillet recipe and you'll see that frozen is often fresher than fresh!

Ingredients

  • 2 x side fillets of Cod frozen
  • 2 x portions of frozen oven chips
  • 250g of frozen peas

Method

Defrost the frozen fish fillets (click here for the best and safest way to defrost frozen fish).

Gently heat some oil in a char grill pan and place the fillets of fish face down. Pan fry each side and after 5-6 minutes take out of pan and let the fish rest on a piece of kitchen roll. Next: place the oven chips in a pre-heated oven for the time specified on the packet. Boil a pan of water and cook the frozen peas for 8 minutes and drain.

Finally place the grilled fish back in the oven for the last 5-6 minutes of cooking time for the chips.

 

 

To make the Tartare Sauce you will need... 

  • 5 x tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 3 x tablespoons of Capers
  • Chopped fresh Parsley
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 3 x tablespoons Lemon juice
  • Mixed together
