I read so many bits of advise about de-frosting chicken. Please could you clarify this for me?

Defrosting frozen chicken in the fridge overnight is the method we recommend and this is the safest method. Plan your defrosting time for about five hours per pound of chicken. You can also defrost your chicken in a bowl of water and this is slightly quicker. Your chicken must be wrapped in plastic because this method involves immersing the frozen chicken in water.

Alternatively you can use a microwave to defrost your frozen chicken. Refer to the microwave manual as all microwaves are differ. Take care not to let the frozen chicken dry out when you defrost.
