I prepared a Spinach and Bean soup using defrosted chicken broth. After a good meal, I still have a large amount of soup left. Can I safely refreeze the resulting soup? Anon

Many soups freeze well. You can refreeze soup that has been made with frozen ingredients if you have leftovers, but the taste may not be as good as the first time around. For best result, you should let the soup cool down to room temperature before freezing. Once this is done, divide the soup into portion size containers that are suitable for freezing and in they go!

If you are uncertain about refreezing – and to make sure you get top quality and taste – try a frozen soup from your local supermarket! Click here for info on how best to package frozen liquid foods.
