I often use frozen asparagus. Lately after cooking according to package directions, the asparagus spears are stringy and not very appetising.


Make sure that you follow the instructions properly and if the asparagus spears are stringy and not very appetizing wash the spears and trim bottom ends. Don't defrost frozen asparagus before cooking – you can keep it frozen until you're ready to cook it. If frozen asparagus thaws, it must be cooked right away.
