Do I have to wait for food to cool before putting it in the freezer?

Yes allow me to elaborate!

Firstly hot food will warm other surrounding frozen foods and could even raise the temperature of the freezer and secondly, the outer edges of the hot or warm dish will freeze hard quickly while the inside may not cool in time which will spoil the over consistency of the food.

Once you have cooked food, you should wait until it has completely cooled to room temperature before placing it in a Tupperware container and then storing it in the freezer. Cool foods as quickly as possible before packaging them and placing them in the freezer, this keeps the amount of bacteria growth to a minimum. Once frozen correctly, your frozen foods last up to a year. Click here for more info on storing frozen foods.
