What is the best way to freeze fresh mushrooms?

If you want to freeze them uncooked, we’d recommend giving the mushrooms a quick wash in cold water, trimming off the ends of the stalks and putting them in a freezer suitable re-sealable bag, ensuring to squeeze out as much air as possible, before putting them in your freezer. Or you can slice them before freezing them, this way you can take out what you want to use next time (frozen food is a great way of reducing food waste) without having to wait until they have thawed enough to cut – or simply buy frozen ready sliced mushrooms from you local supermarket!
