What happens if you cook food from frozen that you are not meant to?
As always, we highly recommend that you follow the manufacturers suggestion when cooking from frozen.
Frozen foods must be thoroughly cooked all the way through before serving for safety reasons. Some frozen food types are hard to cook all the way through to the centre without over cooking the outside because they are so dense and it may be for this reason that the manufacturers advise to defrost the frozen food products beforehand. It is possible that for this reason the manufacturers advise defrosting first before cooking – this way the meal will be piping hot all the way through to the centre, which is much safer. You could check the cooked foods with a temperature probe to ensure that the middle of the food is piping hot throughout.
