The electricity board is switching off our power for 6 hours. Will all our frozen food in the chest freezer be wasted? or will it be ok if we don't open it during this time?
Hello and thanks for your question about frozen food. Although this is not great news for you and your frozen foods they should be OK. If you keep the lid closed during this time and if all the food is bunched together so that all the frozen food items keep each other insulated you should be OK. If you have any ice blocks for cool bags why don’t you put them on top of the foods a day before the power is cut? This will help insulate the foods further. Otherwise you could pop down to the supermarket and buy a couple of bags of ice and this will do the same trick.
Thanks for you question about frozen food.
