Is it OK to eat prawns that have been frozen for three years?
Thank you for your question! The answer to this question is probably no. The recommended time for storage of frozen prawns is approximately six months, however this is only a guideline. Food frozen at home is unlikely to remain of high quality for this same length of time as your freezer may have been turned off in the last three years or the packaging may have not been airtight.
In this case we advise throwing them away.Fish can perish easily if not treated with proper care. Fish however can last a long time if frozen and packaged correctly. Click here to see how to store frozen fish correctly.
