If food (pre cooked & non) is defrosted can it be re-frozen? Freezer was left cracked open for 24 hrs.

That’s a great question – usually if your freezer goes many people decide to chuck out all frozen products they have.

But, in reality, this situation is totally dependant on how much frozen food you have in your freezer. The ‘outer’ food will act as a frozen insulator to the other food items that are stored inside the freezer. The situation also depends on the quality of your freezer – the better the freezer, the better the insulation.

However, if all your food has thawed, the uncooked (or raw) frozen food has defrosted you can re-freeze it as long as you cook it thoroughly first. Check out our recipe page for inspiration! If the thawed food is cooked food that you have put in your freezer, this should not be refrozen once defrosted.

Hope this helps.
