I had a freezer problem and the food defrosted: about 12 hours I think. I have two bags of oven chips that I've refrozen. Are they safe to eat?
That’s a good question. In those 12 hours in which your frozen chips were defrosting, bacteria would have been allowed to grow, making a home for themselves! Once the bacteria has started to set in, refreezing the chips will not solve the issue. The bacteria will continue to spread, and can be very dangerous if consumed. So to be on the safe side we recommend you to throw the two bags of oven chips away. Check out our top-tips for frozen food safety.
