I defrosted chicken on Sunday for a short time on the counter, it was still mostly frozen when I put it in the fridge to finish defrosting. Today is Friday and it is still in the fridge. Is it safe to cook

Hi there and thank you for your question. Unfortunately your, once, frozen chicken is no longer safe to cook as too many days have passed. Chicken, when defrosted properly (for best results overnight in your fridge!), can be kept safely in the fridge for another 12 hours after it has thawed. We recommend you throw the chicken out, and check out our helpful hints on how to defrost your frozen foods. Click here for information on how to defrost chicken safely.
