Can I safely refreeze raw smoked haddock. It was almost defrosted when I bought it and I put it in the fridge for several hours and then I froze it. Is it safe to eat?

Was the fish advertised as frozen or chilled? It sounds like if it was a frozen fish it was not stored correctly? If it was a chilled fish, it has actually been previously frozen and therefore I would treat this fish with caution. Can you please tell us more about how it was advertised in the shop?
