Can I freeze scallops in their shells?

Hi, and thanks for you question about frozen food. Scallops can be frozen in their shells and this goes for freezing Snails, Mussels, Clams and lots of other food with shells. I wash the shells and keep them for another day because sometimes scallops come without a shell and I think they can look nice presented on the plate.
