Can I cook and eat salmon steaks that have been frozen for 1 year?
This is a really good question. We advise that you don’t cook and eat the salmon. Each individual frozen item has its own storage life. As you can see in our frozen food storage guidelines here, we recommend that you store salmon in your freezer for up to 4 months. When this is defrosted, it will be safe to eat and you can be sure that there will be no difference in the quality of the fish. Indeed we have an excellent salmon recipe of our own – check out our frozen salmon recipe.
Thanks for the question.
