Broken Freezer – what to do with my frozen food?

Hello, we’re very sorry to hear about the unfortunate mishap with your deep freezer! If the frozen foods had only been thawing for a day it sounds to me like you have done the right thing because they will have only partially thawed. Frozen foods thaw more slowly in a freezer because the bulk of food keeps them insulated for longer.

It will also be safe to refreeze because it sounds like you dealt with the hoo-hah swiftly! But do make sure that you package the cooked food well before freezing and also allow them to cool completely before putting them in the freezer. Thanks for your question about frozen food.
